Romans 6:4 (NIV)

“We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.”

What is Baptism?
Baptism or ‘baptizo’ (Greek) – to immerse in a body of water.

Baptism symbolizes the washing away of sins, rebirth, and a new life in Christ. The old nature is put to death, and you begin your new life in Christ Jesus. In Acts 2:3,8, the Bible says to repent of your sins and be baptized. It is an ordinance that Christ advised us to do. (Matthew 28:19) We customarily baptize when applicable (when new members want to be baptized, we set a date for baptism).

We are aware that there are people who come from different backgrounds with different understandings of baptism. Our understanding is that baptism is by full immersion and after your profession of faith.

As for infants, we practice child dedications on infants and young children. When a child chooses to follow Jesus, they have the opportunity to declare to others that decision of Jesus being the Lord of their life through baptism.
